Postmodernism and buildings

Postmodernism art would be whatever art there is after 1945. Almost everything was discovered by 1945 yet there is still a lot to be discovered. I think that postmodernism is a part of a progressive reaction. If you look at the all the postmodern buildings in Chicago, they look like they would be in a futuristic movie while the modern architectural buildings of Chicago would be in a Al Capone movie. The postmodern architects took the modern buildings and added there own touch to it to make it new and suit the modern needs. These buildings are part a movement to bring growth and beauty to the city. Im sure that every building that was built in Chicago no matter what era was built to bring people to the city so it is hard to say what would be a postmodern building and what would be a modern one. I would say that postmodernism is progressive because it is pushing us to a new age of discovery and experimentation.
